FHFA calls on Congress to investigate Jerome Powell

Total "power threat" to anyone else he CAN fire, appoint, promote, etc: "do what I want or else......"

I said this before and I'll say it again: Thank you Mr. Powell for NOT resigning and letting this whole thing just burn down (even if temporarily).

I agree it would be easier to just take my ball and go home were I in Powell's position. I certainly agree that the bombardment is, in part, intended to intimidate the FOMC. That said, it also serves a second purpose: confusing people into ultimately seeing no fault in what the administration does.

A) No cuts and the economy faulters: It's "too Late's fault! I told you so!"
B) Cuts and the market tanks: It's "Too Late's fault! If he had listened to me and gone earlier, there would be no problems".
C) No cuts and the market does just fine: "Just think of how good things would be if we had cut earlier....we need more cuts NOW!"

Say what you want about the utter lack of professionalism out of the administration, the marketing machine knows how to play their game. I just HATE THE GAME, and those who play (on both sides of the political spectrum). However, 70%+ (probably being conservative here) of voters actually don't know any better and just believe what their respective algos are feeding them. It's hard to get out of a digital feedback loop.

Simple, abolish the Fed, let markets set rates. Treasury can step in for the once a decade serious dislocation. Everyone freaking out over every Fed meeting is getting ridiculous. Getting rid of the Fed would also give pause to all central banks who continue to degrade fiat currencies around the world. Name any currency that has kept pace with gold?
