FWIW, tomorrow will likely have the most meaningless unemployment claims number reaction in history as people await the deal (ahem, MOU) as guidance for what is to come with other nations.

An observation or two:

Sunak was lambasted, understandably, for leaving the Dunkirk celebrations early, so IF Starmer is to get to Washington for any signing ceremony, it'll take some care to dodge the repcussions of leaving VE Day early?
I'm not expecting it to be "earth-shattering" as described by the Chaos-Monkey, although he'll want to use it as signposting for all other countries. Once done it'll mean that the UK will return to the back of the queue for improving any such deals. One has to hope that there are significant first-mover benefits, otherwise, other countries' deals will soon erode any benefit.

Trade deals should be a Kaizen feature but, of course, the attached significant political grand-standing largely prohibits that approach.
