German gross domestic product in the 1st quarter of 2025 up 0.2% on the previous quarter

The gross domestic product (GDP) grew by 0.2% in the first quarter of 2025 compared with the fourth quarter of 2024 - following adjustment for price, seasonal and calendar variations - after decreasing at the end of 2024 (-0.2% in the fourth quarter of 2024 compared with the third quarter of 2024). The Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that both household final consumption expenditure and capital formation were higher than in the previous quarter.GDP in the first quarter of 2025 was down a price adjusted 0.4% compared with the first quarter of 2024.
