    Real gross domestic product (GDP) increased at an annual rate of 2.9 percent in the fourth quarter of 2022 (table 1), according to the "advance" estimate released by the Bureau of Economic Analysis. In the third quarter, real GDP increased 3.2 percent. The GDP estimate released today is based on source data that are incomplete or subject to further revision by the source agency (refer to "Source Data for the Advance Estimate" on page 4). Lots of good level congestion up here helping the buy the dip crowd but IF it got below 1.0830 then the trap door is open.
The BOJ are stood there with their trousers round their ankles - they have no say/power in the price of the dollar.

Give it some time. You know that important news often plays out the next day. Often, the first reaction of the market isn't appropriate.
Everyone who is saying DXY is losing need to wait. The markets going stop loss hunting and trapping traders. Wait a few hours and see DXY turn. Such robust data increase won’t go unnoticed people. Have patience and wait for it.

"Everyone on here never listens". Wow! That's a pretty damning and 'lofty' viewpoint. Someone asks for some insight and you slap them down? That's not very 'open'. You may not want to take time to provide an explanation, and that's absolutely fine; it's your prerogative but why not just pass on commenting in that respect?

Maybe those that know better don't actually comment or don't feel inclined to help out when they're busy. There are so many possible reasons why you don't get to see a whole breadth of knowledge held by peeps on FF.

Separately, I'd agree with you that comments about "Market Manipulation" tend to come out when ignorance prevails. There are plenty of parallel analogies for humans creating emotional, religious or spiritual explanations and even conspiracy theories, in other spheres, when there is a black hole of scientific, logical or educated answers.

You are right, everything is designed to make us fail as a novice trader, because you were brought here only to provide liquidity to market markers and your broker's balance. It is the trader himself which needs to see his way through all these obstacles. As for good US GDP didnt trigger a fall, it is natural, taking into consideration a heavily traded pairs the cable, its weekly candle already bullish. So any drop, will be met by high buying interest cause they are preparing themselves for FOMC. Using 1mins timeframe ONLY, that's frustrating!

Why would you think that the MM's are ever NOT 'At It'?

It's how they make their money. Bigger organisations need bigger income to survive. The difference is that, with their very deep pockets, they have a different reward/risk ratio outlook to the retail trader and are prepared to force the issue by shaking the tree until no more apples fall out.

It's a question of whether you're an apple, or not.

Everyone who is saying DXY is getting weaker, wait for it. The markets going stop loss hunting and trapping traders betting against DXY. It’s going to turn within the next few hours. The robust increase in the data that just came out isn’t going to be ignored people. Patience is key in the markets.

I understand you, my answer was not called for and I do formally apologize. I just had bad experience with others on here for many years with voicing my own opinion. It is why I don’t post at all anymore, I am happy with my trading for many years now and wanted to help others at one point. But my bad experience just has me being silent now. It sounds like you need to keep tabs on the COT report. It clearly shows that the Euro longs were increasing and went net long in September of last year and shortly after that, the eurusd found a bottom. As the non commercial traders added euro longs as they are pricing in that the FED will need to cut rates to balance weakness in the US economy.... but continued resilience out of the USA (relative to other countries) may have them reevaluate their positions. Using the COT as a backdrop to trade is boring since it updates once a week, but it helps filter out a lot of false signals.
