August 2020: For the first time since March, exports exceeded the 18 billion franc mark
In Swiss foreign trade, exports continued their recovery course in August 2020, while imports fell. With a plus of 3.7 percent, exports were again above the 18 billion franc threshold. Imports lost 1.8 percent in value within a month and fell to 14.9 billion francs. The trade balance showed a surplus of CHF 3.4 billion.The recovery in exports was confirmed in August 2020: with a seasonally adjusted + 3.7 percent (real: + 2.9 percent) exports grew for the third consecutive month.
