Trading is NOT a zero-sum-game!

You are not trading against other traders, you are trading against market makers and algorithm, our trades are a drop in a bucket, irrelevant noise which means nothing - we can never manipulate price or even hold price for short period of time, thats how insignificant we are - when we catch the right trade, we might use other trader's orders as exit liquidity, but even if retail was not part of the eco-system, we would still be able to exit/enter through the market makers and the algorithm - who are the liquidity providers for the market - behind them is central banks - who are de-facto in control of the market price.

A trader who loses money is by definition a loser - however, he is not a loser in life, he is just a loser trader!

But being a loser trader is not a bad thing, its part of learning, however, we mock those losers when they pump their chest and act war-hawks, supporting colonism and other unjust causes, thats when a loser trader gets mocked.

Currently its not about negotiation, but about optics - when the war escalate, murika will say we tried to negotiate and they rejected us - however, providing excessive demands and dictates is not negotiation, its a farce and the world can see through it!

Anything short of a wide open SoH is going to be defeat for the US. The idea seems to be US will be able to militarily take control of it, as there is nobody in Iran who is willing to make a "deal" with Trump for its control. Maybe that will change if the US continue to bomb the fuck out of Iran, but I kind of doubt it. If there is war for the SoH, the US troop count is going to be much higher, the war will be prolonged for months, and the disruption to commodity flows will become entrenched. We could see deep slides in equities similar to what was seen @Covid, only without the V-bottom.

I am with you. Its truly strange & annoying. I trade the dow jones & did not expect an overnight push to such a high. I did buy low but took profit at 45380 about 300 points from the low - however it just kept climbing & now 1,0000 points almost from the low is the current high of the day. Thats a HUGE range once again.

I was checking news & analysis, & I had 45,580 as a potential target, however hearing the continued escalation of the war I did not see 45,900 today.( I saw it possibly maybe later this week). I assumed 45,300-45,500 would hold until new york open, but now the range is so massive in a few hours that I have to trade 1-2 micros just to be safe lol. I am out for the day luckily Asia session treated me well.

Last Monday the 7am Monday candle became the high of the week after his tweet. I guess he tweeted that out & the 7am candle once again is the current high.

The ranges have been so big that you can be right, but it can go quite a ways before you are proven right.

Not that it means ANYTHING this time around, but both Gulf wars had over 150k US troops on the ground during the initial day(s) with several hundred thousand more deployed during the operations. Arguably, Iraq was easier terrain than Iran...and the presidents then were addressing palpable issues (at least as far as the broad media sold them to the American people), thus had SUPPORT (for the most part) in engaging. Today? Not so much.

Sadly, if oil was still flowing through the strait, .markets would likely be climbing again (as was the case soon after the start of the first two Gulf Wars.....war is typically good for business)....but when you disrupt energy flows like this, there is a cost. Hence everyone wanting to "believe" there is a near term plan/deal to get the strait back open.

Time will tell.

Happens fast, but this time was only around 0.5% in the /ES before giving it back. Volumes were much lighter too (17.5k vs the 41k+ for the 5 minute bar of the tweet...vs last week). Oil didn't budge either (relative to last week).
