Italian 2016 bond auction yield of 6.47% is the highest since May 1997 Germany got bids for EU5.98bln vs EUR5bln max of 2 year debt at sale. Compare Italy with Sweden who sold SEK2bln 2016 bonds with yield of just 1.0229% (1/6th the cost).
