Good job. The real trick is to keep it up and follow your rules every time even when you are getting nothing but mud. I think Damian can be quoted as saying: "That's trading. It's not just peaches and crème…Sometimes it's mud." I actually love that ...

You can't have a LH until you have made another NSL so your last LH shouldn't be labeled as such. Based on your labels, your expectation for a NSL has failed as price has breached the LH near the blue arrow. However, on the more immediate orderflow ...

Hello spetscom, I think following your trade plan very strictly can help you lessen the fears that are causing your hesitation. For me, once I have an expectation I simply draw my fibs, structure and any harmonics, and measure where price needs to ...

Figured that might be the case. I would have been limited to trading the immediate orderflow due to the size of the main swing and depth of the retrace. Of course zone trading is also an option for limiting risk. All the best!

I'll take a stab at it! Purple line is expectation failure. image

Hey Lawnman, to me it looked bullish on the IOF and the trade was to get long at your #2. (The swing you fibbed out was the main swing imo) We can get too picky on our rotations. We must remember that the rotation could have been totally different ...

Fun! I messed around with a DSLR a few years back and enjoyed learning about photography. Are you using a tripod or monopod at all? Its amazing what you can do with shutter speed and low light with a stable mount.

No. Free margin isn't even relevant to me because I have traded enough to know how to manage risk/money properly.

From a risk management perspective I can't see why any trader who wants to have a long career in this industry would use more than 1:10 or so gearing (a bit more or less in certain situations). If you turn up the leverage you would have to have ...

Generally, high leverage and novice traders don't mix well. Experienced trades understand it (hopefully) and manage risk appropriately.

Thanks for the tip, will have to check out Nassim Nicholas Taleb. I did edit my original post as I tend to get overly wordy. Lol. Green pips!

It's an important question and one that may not have a right answer since there is always risk in trading. Even if we employ emergency stoplosses, they could be ran right over in a low liquidity situation. I am personally making the transition to ...

Indeed, I am with Oanda too and was long AJ before the flash crash...luckily DD isn't terrible. Anyway, there was like a 15 minute period where price of AJ wasn't updating on my charts (pc or mobile) and I couldn't make any changes to open positions. ...

Correct! I went with AMP because it seems that AMP and Interactive Brokers were the two major brokers that let you trade mini-nikkei 225 futures. The hours are perfect for me on the east coast US as the markets have just opened in Japan and ...

Good point with the flight sim comparison. I actually have experienced what you are referring to with larger account size reducing stress. I did start with a small account to trade forex ($500) but through winnings and small additional deposits I ...

Just you're thoughts, which you provided . Similar situation indeed. I have been profitable this year trading forex (0-12% probably average around 5-6% a month) but I have had to trade higher TFs due to working a fulltime job 8-5pm EST m-f. I ...

Hi Pair-me-up. Excellent results. I have been demo trading as well (but the mini-nikkei 225) after trading forex live for a couple years. I have definitely noticed a huge difference in my emotions when trading the demo account. I am able to follow ...

Very seriously considering trading the mini-nikkei 225 from 8pm EST until around 11pm EST since I work a fulltime J.O.B. during the day. Has anyone else in a similar situation looked into this? My research so far looks promising in terms of the ...
