Totally agree.... btw: I only asked as I've known traders in the past who demo with a large account but in real trading use one which is a lot smaller which can have an impact of money management if they have based their performance on the former.

Another option which I'm sure you've considered already is whether the strategy can be coded up. If so, then you could backtest it. Other than that, I guess manual eye-balling of charts is the only option.....
