traderone replied Nov 27, 2006I don't understand the attitude here. Why don't you trade it for a month and then send us your actual broker statement? First you come here praising the system, and now you are criticizing it. I guess I just don't get it.

traderone replied Nov 26, 2006I meant when we only look at the weekly candles in backtesting, we can miss instances where on the 1 hour or daily charts the trade was triggered (say at a +100 move), then retraced to stop out at 100, then once again shot back up to hit what we set ...

traderone replied Nov 26, 2006Kamanda was placing a straddle at 5 PM EST. 55 was his long trigger and 35 was his short trigger. His target was 50 pips but he often watched the trade and sometimes got a little more than 50. He said that very few trades were stopped for losses.

traderone replied Nov 25, 2006I am testing the weekly method, but I am currently using my modified kamanda "daily" method as I described in a previous post. I think both are showing promise.

traderone replied Nov 25, 2006Actually I figured the trade on Sunday at 5PM EST on FXDD weekly charts. However when I looked back on daily charts I found there was movement within that weekly candle that was hidden, and may have sometimes triggered the SL without it showing up ...

traderone replied Nov 25, 2006Matt. lots of great thinking here. thanks for sharing all your findings. I have found a potential land mine here I think. When I went back over the last year, using weekly candles, 100 pip trigger and stop loss, and a 120 TP, I was excited to rack ...

traderone replied Nov 25, 2006This is real world stuff though, and I may sometimes fumble finger in the trades or miss add the trigger amounts. I am trying to be consistent. Good luck.

traderone replied Nov 24, 2006Yes. I've had a good time over the last couple of weeks trading a kind of modified Kamanda system. You can find his posts earlier in this thread. I have been placing straddle trades at 5 PM EST on the GBPUSD daily open. For long trades I require a ...

traderone replied Nov 24, 2006Don't feel alone Melissa. Just glad I had a 40 pipstep instead of the 20 I used to use for a while! Still I've lost 33% of a live account. Ouch.

traderone replied Nov 24, 2006A quick question... I don't think I understand your stoploss on the 2nd lot. Do you mean that if the second target is reached, you apply a 25 pip trailing stop or 25 pips from the 2nd target? Thanks for any advice. I think this is looking good. ...

traderone replied Nov 24, 2006I like this idea a lot. Even for daily strategies like Micardo's I believe this has value. Thanks for all your good thinking!

traderone replied Nov 22, 2006Yes. Firebird is "out of the box" a countertrend trader. Watch your settings, pipstep no less than 40 will help some. Hang in there and it may reverse just a little off this big trend.

traderone replied Nov 21, 2006Robert this is a great post. My studies over the past several years would agree. Consistant pips rather than large number of pips is the key. I too feel that we start to curve fit over past data, which will never be repeated the same way in the ...

traderone replied Nov 21, 2006Glenn, I don't think that is a hedge version. The H refers to a fellow named Hendrick who modified that version. It has a "safe area" calculated as another filter. The hedge version is 1.0b2 or 1.0b3.
