No; thats what you would think would happen, but since Oanda doesn't allow hedging they will actually close the portion of your position that you try to hedge. Try it out with 2 units as a risk free way of getting a feel for it.

Also in case it wasn't clear, to take some profit off you click on sell if you're long and buy if you're short. Then just enter in half the units. Or a quarter, etc.

I use Oanda as well, and I take partial profit in the same manner Ken mentioned above. It is extremely useful.
