IMHO you need to be clear on your parameters. A trader is not an investor and vice-versa. You need to work out your timescale for trading and adjust your view accordingly. For example for longer term or swing trading suggest you look at the last two ...

cash gold is like forex it totally dwarfs futures contracts.....google the amount of gold traded daily in london if you haven't already done so... also cash gold is less susceptible to spikes than gc beeb
why would you trade spot gold, and not GC (Comex)?

If you trade the weekly then you probably shouldn't be bothering about a 6% decline form the top lol......... Seriously though have a look at the weekly RSI - draw a line from the Aug 2008 lows and you will see that the weekly RSI is now at the line ...
