I don't think its an unreasonable assumption that if the US GDP print comes in in line or better than forecast that you see the dollar strengthen.

What is wrong with the analysis is that it doesn't make sense for Draghi to WANT the euro higher. If anything Draghi needs the euro to weaken to get out of this mess

If the euro does not cease to exist and does not devalue significantly then countries like Italy, Spain, and Greece will be hurting even more than they are now. Plus Germany will be in trouble as they also are highly levered and export driven.

IMHO there is a difference between saving the euro and the euro depreciating. For an export driven economy a strong currency does not help so keeping the euro strong makes no sense when you are trying to stimulate economic growth. As highly levered ...
