I use a variant of Martingale although I NEVER double down. However in certain situations I average down/scale in especially if I am hedging with a highly correlated pair going in the other direction. Would not recommend this without a large account ...

i like to Trade the News pressers like FOMC and ECB as this morning. The events last longer, there is tons of volatility due to all the Algos, and it creates a nice opportunity to scalp both long and short

Not sure where you get that? The spread is based upon the pair you are trading and is variable not Flat. I trade EUR/LPY. GBP/JPY, and EUR/USD and don't pay anywhere near $7 on standard lot
