This week was a much better week, with some strong gains in GBP and CAD, especially on Friday. So nearly a 4% gain on equity for the week, and about 1.5% on Friday alone. There weren't a lot of new trading opportunities for me this week, with only 3 ...

As expected, not much activity this week, 5 orders placed, all of them taken, and 5 TPs hit. So meeting targets as far as TPs are concerned, but another 1% drop in equity for the week, and that means i'm at about 5.4% equity loss for the month of ...

Well, August is proving not be to a great month. Only 7 orders placed last weekend, with 6 of them being taken. This week there were only 4 TPs hit, and the drop in equity for the week was over 2%. So MTD the drop in equity is almost 4.5%, and ...

This looked a good setup to me on the 30min chart. There seemed to be good resistance at the 1.1750 mark in several places much further to the left as well. SL at 1.1756, keeping it quite tight (I thought if it did go through the 1.1750 it would ...

A very average week this week. 5 TPs hit, which meets target. Of the 14 orders placed, 10 were taken. So currently sitting on 12 trades open (with 2 positions open on EURGBP, the oldest now 4 weeks old). With the GBP and Soybeans both losing ground ...

Not a bad week overall, with 15 TPs hit in total (3 times the target). Some were hit quite early in the week, so I went back and opened more positions mid-week, which helped boost the overall TP count. Equity-wise though, with the lower GBP against ...

Six Month Summary While it has been over a year now with Set&Forget, it has only been the last 6 months where all trades open or closed have been taken in this account using this method. I know this is still a relatively short time frame, and I'm ...

A very pleasing week: 13 new trades taken, and 15 TPs hit, with a gain on equity for the week at around 2.9%, and up about 3.5% MTD now. Currently only 4 trades open (3 on GBP), with drawdown sitting just below 1.5%. The oldest open trade is 12 days ...

While I don't really want to comment on the rules of this system, which seems to be quite profitable over time, my only observation is that this looks like Jun 2010, and therefore the GBP was at an historic low (only in 1985 can I see it lower). As ...

I have come across a few people mention this now, and I must say as I grow my account and add deposits I do worry about those funds sitting with a broker who may be very liquid at the moment but there is still an element of risk. While ideally I ...

For me that is a good week. If you were to do that every week of the year, compounded that's over 45%pa. Not a bad return at all.

An average week this week. On the positive, another 9 positions were opened, taking the total to 15, with 8 hitting their TP and one at BE. So still sitting with 6 trades open, the oldest being only 5 days old. On the negative, equity dropped a ...

I bought at 1.2965, and placed a stop just below the earlier lows at 1.2953. I placed my TP at 1.2990, just short of the earlier highs around 1.2995. That is a 1% gain on equity for a 2:1 R/R. It has since gone another 25pips higher, but I had ...

Hi Profitfarmer, The TE and MyFxbook (which I use, as the TE with Oanda v20 account doesn't work now) were always a little off, and at best just gave you a good indication of how you are trading. For more accurate ROI, I use an annualised IRR which ...

Hi Yonnie, Yes, I came across that a week or so ago and starting reading through some of his posts. Seems like something quite similar, but he also talks about having severe drawdown and getting/managing close to 100% drawdown. That's not something ...

I suggest you reassess your goals so that they are realistic, or you will not enjoy trading at all. What happens if your first 5 trades of the week hit the SL of 30pips? That's 150 pips you are down. Then what?
