Reading through this thread again, I do think that there is confusion about Stop losses and what actually constitutes a stop loss. There are 4 types of stop losses that i can think of... which i think woudl fit 95% of traders... winning or losing ...

Agreed. I realised that the only way to back test the offline charts was by eye as well- trying to add the EA to the chart was a waste of time as they behave completely different on live charts...! I typically use small brick sizes, 10, or 20 points ...

No worries! We were all learning at some point! Just to point out that entering in the valid to time in MT4 on the limit/stop orders, I believe that these will cancel even if you have the computer turned off. This woudl not be true of the EA route ...

Why not just use the clock in the MT4 platform and set when an order needs to be cancelled??? when doing limit and stop orders you have th eability to put in a order valid to... goes down to date, hours and minutes...

Demo accounts are only ever good for understanding how to place orders and checking how your system works. Trading on live is as differnet to demo as chalk and cheese. Demo trading requires nothing of you. LIve requires everything of you.

Well, the EA has been improved, new demo (with the new version) is up nearly $330 on one pair... not opened up anything else. Unfortunately, it is still not working correcty, and the profit shoudl be lower, as it did not close out of the positions ...
