Yea. Chances are you won't be able to either close the position or take profit on or within a few seconds of a major news movement. At least have a trailing stop and a stop loss... even if its a large stop loss it will save your account if you can't ...

I always just short the eurusd, as if I need to hang onto it a get positive swap.

I agree. I used to trade it back in the 90's and it regularly made huge moves then almost exact retracement in about a minute or so. Could make $$ both ways.

To trade the new as it hits, look at the time on your MT4. The markets will react within a few seconds after the announcement. Also the news tab on your MT4 will give you the news results almost instantly.

Do you know if that leverage is for new positions only, or does it include current positions? I am with Alpari, and from the 7th till after election leverage goes from 500 to 100.
