Rknigh2 replied Aug 10, 2012My equities have had such a nice run for the last week... Holding opposite positions really helps digest the market moves without getting too emotionally involved.

Rknigh2 replied Aug 10, 2012Looks like pressure from USD news too, pushing down USD/CAD. Check out the CAD/JPY sell off, yowza.

Rknigh2 replied Aug 10, 2012Alrighty, waiting for that 1min to sell off and base a bit. Then I'll get in for a partial bit. Fairly decent looking bullish divergence on the 4h and the MACD is well into positive territory.

Rknigh2 replied Aug 10, 2012Nice call so far! Interesting numbers for CAD today while the market digests the chinese data. Bias is slightly long here. Kills me to stay out, but not too sure if we'll get a "Chinese-stimulus" bear run and/or good job data.

Rknigh2 replied Aug 9, 2012Pretty solid hold so far for the third consecutive test of 82.75 AUD/JPY. Going long, tight stop. PS. When do we bet to see the bull rush from Chinese stimulus speculations after the surprise slump?

Rknigh2 replied Aug 9, 2012Anyone else considering Carney's comments today highlighting the increasing attractiveness of CAD as a safe haven and a front running position to see an interest rate increase? I look at the number of investors chasing yield stocks and the AUD and ...

Rknigh2 replied Aug 9, 2012Awesome, I love it haha. If speculative trading is miniscule... Technical analysis is much more interesting to me because it paints a picture of trading patterns that the primary market mover (equities, commodities etc.) are unaware of.

Rknigh2 replied Aug 9, 2012Technically I don't see too much support here other than the day's low and the .9900 psych level. I'm moderately comfortable shorting here at .9925 until .9900 (maybe even test that tough .9880 resistance).

Rknigh2 replied Aug 8, 2012Yes, much better word haha. What percentage is speculative. I figured that would be the closest estimate the way your described (calculating known exchange volumes versus estimated total currency volume). It would be interesting to see if certain ...

Rknigh2 replied Aug 8, 2012It may one day bite me. But I'm not a huge fan of "stop losses". If I get out of a trade, I go through the exercise of taking an opposite position. I.E. If I'm long USD/CAD right now. If I want to initiate a stop loss, I instead ask myself if I'm ...

Rknigh2 replied Aug 8, 2012I like long positions at these levels as long as I had the margin to see it through for a few months. In my eyes, CAD is still benefiting from the sidelined cash and the "risk on". So either we go into another panic "risk off" - USD jumps. Or we ...

Rknigh2 replied Aug 8, 2012I will quit if my second account ends up like my first. I am in a much better place once I understood the bigger picture of foreign exchange. Also, not understanding why I lost money in my first account was the primary reason it ended so poorly.

Rknigh2 replied Aug 8, 2012If you go back to the last time we were in this area (April) there were approximately 5 out of the 20 trading days that bounced off the .9920-.9930 level. Looks like a significant level until we get down to the .9890 and .9800 lows.
