cgldsmth replied Sep 8, 2006agreed. Not hit any SL yet but margin is precarious. USD is at an outer fib level now so hopefully we'll get a reversal on monday. these massive slides are uncommon, the market ranges 80% of the time. lesson: use smaller lots and higher pipstep!

cgldsmth replied Sep 7, 2006I'm only trading eurusd audusd usdchf and usdcad but still got hammered by todays move. My profit on live account is almost double after 2 weeks but float is now near 40% and margin level about 150%. I fear a margin call is on its way.

cgldsmth replied Sep 6, 2006My tests are suggesting that FB eventually hedges itself by surrounding the price with trades long and short.

cgldsmth replied Sep 4, 2006we need a good indicator of when a currency pair is moving from a ranging to a trending market, perhaps williams%. then we could select the EA for only the ranging pairs. or maybe just using our eyes and drawing higher highs and lower lows. but it's ...

cgldsmth replied Sep 4, 2006thanks. I'm narrowing my live FB to USDCHF. EURUSD and GBPUSD today, using the fixed version. Account up about 60% in one week so far. still grappling with what to do in a trending market. I think there should be enough daily ranges for FB to do OK ...

cgldsmth replied Aug 30, 2006Over time, the logic of Firebird should prevail - that a price will deviate toward the mean after a spike. FB needs to win 10 for every 1 loss to make a profit. My first demo (now just over a month old) is 308-7. the logic seems to be skewing things ...

cgldsmth replied Aug 28, 2006I just shut down my PC but all the open trades are left on the broker's server. there's so many variables we could test in this EA, and a decent test should be a month (at least).
