Mr Trend replied Jul 7, 2006I was thinking the same thing. For the love of God, it's real simple -- switch brokers. There's only a ton of ECNs now and a lot are starting to offer micro... or heck, just go with Oanda on the retail side. 'Nuff said.

Mr Trend replied Jul 7, 2006Yeah, I like that strategy. It's your common straddle. You can do it in Oanda if you have a subaccount. Pretty much risk-free trading. What I like!

Mr Trend replied Jul 7, 2006There is a thread about this somewhere about having to wait for a dealer to approve your trade. That's crazy that a broker would do this. Now that this has happened, are you still going to use them? I wouldn't...
trading during NFP

Mr Trend replied Jul 7, 2006Nice trade. A little too aggressive on your limit orders for my taste, but I don't know what your experience is, so... as you probably are aware, you run the risk of getting whipsawed. A little less of a risk with NFP versus, say, CPI reports, but ...

Mr Trend replied Jul 7, 2006Jesus Christ didn't believe that. He went everywhere. In the markets. In the synagogues. In people's homes. As a community of believers, we are everywhere. And we reflect Christ as a community and a family. Church is there to unite the body of ...

Mr Trend replied Jul 7, 2006I would advise that that's too far in terms of days to look back. With my strategy, you don't care about anything more than the first ten minutes. That means you should look at the last thirty minutes max. After ten minutes, it's anyone's game, and ...
Non-farm Payroll
-
Mr Trend replied Jul 7, 2006Then you did something wrong, or your broker played games with you. From 5:00 - 5:25 PST, the highest high on Oanda was 1.2784 I got filled at 1.2796. You can do the math from that point on by looking at any chart.

Mr Trend replied Jul 6, 2006Actually, NFP is easy to trade. 5 minutes before the numbers are released, set Buy and Sell Limits at the highest high and lowest low of the last 25 minutes + 12 pips. Set a Stop of 8 pips and a PT of 80. Use proper risk management. (ya know... MAX ...

Mr Trend replied Jul 4, 2006I have a semi-daily strategy that is my primary long term trend following strategy. My stops in pips vary from one trade to the next but my risk is always 2-3%. 30 pips, as narafa has suggested, is VERY tight. I do 20 pips on my intraday ...
