No that's fine, everyone has different opinions about how much should be risked, etc. I was just going by what you said re. the risk per pip and so... anyway, obviously I did the math wrong.

I assume you mean 2%? Oh, and "and nothing in the world will allow me to hold my position for a loss larger then what was already planned"... yeah, as long as the Swiss dudes don't decide to go insane again.

I do mostly scalping, I mean usually in and out in a few minutes, maybe half an hour. And yeah, my favorite time is in the little 15 or 20 pip ranges that seem to just calmly swing back and forth for hours at a time. Almost seems unfair to take 10 ...

Wow, I just went and looked at the EUR/CHF chart from that day. Before the collapse, price did NOTHING. I hadn't really realized before now that that was the case... I mean we're talking a range of about ONE PIP in any given ONE HOUR period! ...

But isn't it true that a lot of people got hurt really bad because their very small SLs weren't activated as price plummeted? If so, seems to me that TPs would ALSO not be activated, and so anyone lucky enough to have a short at that moment would ...

Yeah, that was a really scary move. I was on the wrong side too, but lucky for me it was only a tiny position in EUR/USD, so it wasn't much $$. But what I haven't really seen is stories of people who were on the RIGHT side. I mean, there must have ...

About a year ago, before I opened a live account, I watched a few YouTube videos with people who were totally, TOTALLY wedded to their TP target. I mean for instance, I remember one who was like "I'm setting a 20-pip stop loss and a 50-pip take ...

I agree that the bigger your balance, the more "interesting" things get. But I don't see why profit percentages necessarily need to slow down. I mean, if you risk say 1% of your total balance for each 10-pip movement, and keep with that % as your ...

Hmm... I don't get how this works. With my broker, I couldn't even open ANY trade, even a micro-lot (.01) for less than about $20 equity in my account. But then again I have a max leverage of 50:1, so maybe you guys are talking about using huge ...

Are we defining "lot" the same way? By .05 lot, I mean 1/20th of a full ($10 per pip) lot size. In other words, to me .05 lot amounts to only 50 cents per pip... and I don't see that being AT ALL too much for a $1K account.

Okay, what's up with the size of the spreads at the close? I'm assuming this is pretty unusual... or at least I don't recall ever seeing them this big. Yeah, they always increase, but wow. I'm showing EUR/USD with a 60 pip spread, USD/JPY with 78, ...
