My suggestion would be to evaluate your trades in terms of percentage return eg have a target of 2%, 5%, 10% per month/quarter (depending on where you are at) and see if you are meeting that. Looking at happy meal profits is discouraging as it ...

Good explanation. I haven't read enough of your work to understand how you measure different durations of buyers & sellers against each other but that's okay. If it works for you and you've got good reasoning than I'm happy to wish you all the best. ...

also have a look at every December on the monthly from 2011 onwards and let me know if you still think a long is a good idea. Might come off but to me it's not a high probability trade.

Why not have your stop below recent low? If it's for risk reward than I'd suggest you enter lower too.

Guessing you don't trade A/U often as you have an error in position and TP. ie should be you are long 0.764 tp 0.7815

It feels like you don't understand what I'm trying to say so I will leave you with one thought. If the stock market is a big ponzi scheme, when / if it collapses, who is wealth transferred to? Yes there are people who exit near the top but at that ...

shares lose value for a variety of reasons and if it is gradual then is transfer of wealth but that's why I used the example of dramatic collapse (think GFC) or earthquake hits Japan nuclear power plant.

Not sure I agree with first sentence. If share market halves it's value in one day I suspect everyone's net wealth would be a lot less. (There might be some who profit from having shorted the market but I would hazard that would be the minority.) ...

Actually I think it's you who need to take your traders hat off as the economist is correct. In the example given the bitcoin is cashed in so tax is due. In the same example the economist is talking about your average citizen and there is no ...

Never traded US 30 but my experience from AUS200 may apply. The MM principles apply whether FX or an index but what I've found difficult with index is when I'm going to get hit with dividends. Aus200 often has a spike up around Melbourne Cup ...

Seems to me you are wanting to use a technical support level when there's just been fundamental news (German government). Sounds like a recipe for some draw down / hitting your stop loss.

I'm still short on Euro too. Even if it takes longer than I will still hold as 2 of the 3 pairings are +ve swap, plus I've already taken some profits. Mildly upset that I missed a 2nd reload on AN by a few pips and it's gone about 50 pips south.

Have opened another AN short at what was WP last week, now b/w R38 and R61, looking for trend continuation but will add to it at higher levels if it goes there and all the while enjoy +ve swap!

The bank forecasts you use might have more weight than this news article (link at end of my post) but I'm highlighting it just for an alternate view. I suspect the problems it highlights are medium to long term (ie not 2017 Q4 that UOB talked about) ...

Keeping an eye on fundamentals I believe is something Davit encourages and I agree with. BTMU forecast strikes me as much more reasonable than UOB's. I still think it's interesting that neither seems to allow for further AU weakness though but agree ...

UOB's forecast seems very strange to me. Copper has just had a major drop with no sign of move back up yet so don't see it leading AU higher, especially when I believe it has less impact then other metals such as iron ore. AU just taken 45 odd days ...

I still have 1 position open, only because TP was set at 1.1010 (just above s61 pivot) and it didn't get triggered. Will probably add short/s if goes back up around the WP. (took profit on other AN shorts earlier to reduce my exposure, partly due to ...

very different style to mine as I never sell at the bottom, even on breakout. I always wait for a decent pullback and resumption of trend. eg last trade on this pair was sell at 133, took profit at 132.05. Without a decisive lower low I will wait ...
