Bleek replied Apr 28, 2011800 wasn't keen to drop either, in all honesty I didn't expect ~90 to hold as well as it has after the bulls were slowly whittled away at 00! As you say though, lock 'em in and sit back (with a fresh coffee).

Bleek replied Mar 26, 2011I love the luxury of freedom trading brings. I work perhaps 10 hours a week, sometimes less, I travel all the time, I see sights, I see friends, I'm becoming more content with every day. (oh dear my post count has revealed my true identity)

Bleek replied Mar 24, 2011Fair enough, but your original post did seem condescending towards in that you suggested I needed to understand bucket shops will rip me off. I've been in this 'game' for many years and I've see no such thing happen because I watch a number of live ...
LMAX = revolution?!?
-
Bleek replied Mar 19, 2011Exactly, I think this pursuit of the perfect 'STP' is actually a bit of a fallacy. My experience shows there are plenty of decent brokers out there that don't fudge you around, nobody hunts my stops.

Bleek replied Mar 19, 2011You can edit stops, I do it all the time. You click on the 'positions' tab and 'individual orders', you can then click on the stop and edit it. Hope that helps.

Bleek replied Mar 18, 2011I've traded up to 100 contracts ($1,000) per pip without too much hassle. I typically will split my trades across two platforms/brokers if I go above 50 contracts and that works fine, the only drawback is twice the work which has led me to slightly ...

Bleek replied Mar 18, 2011I trade with them daily. Re-quotes aren't an issue but stops can slip a few fractions in a fast market, it happens about one in three times by 0.1-0.3 pips. Nothing major. My stops get hit a lot because I move to B/E +1 very quickly and use them to ...
LMAX = revolution?!?
-
Bleek replied Mar 18, 2011Typically a market order gets you the price you ask because (again I assume) liquidity is 100+ at each price point. Worse case scenario you get a few contracts at 0.1-0.3 points away, to me that isn't a major concern. Perhaps that wouldn't happen on ...

Bleek replied Mar 18, 2011Well my experience of Alpari Direct during London/GMT trading hours (8-4 ish) is instant fills on 50 contracts, so you'd have to assume they comfortably have the liquidity! In the grand scheme of things 50 contracts isn't that big. The main reason I ...

Bleek replied Mar 18, 2011Then one must assume my success is pure luck. I clearly haven't got a clue what I'm doing - help!! Anyway... Who said anything about Metatrader because I didn't? I've never used it in my life because I don't like it, I don't trust it! What has MT ...

Bleek replied Mar 18, 2011What volumes are you trading, PM me if you don't want to say publicly. Have you tried Alpari Direct Pro using Currenex, it handles high volume very well?

Bleek replied Mar 17, 2011I use 4, but I typically only trade on 2 platforms at one time. MM - GFT & Oanda ECN - Alpari Pro STP - LMAX And to be honest under 10 contracts they are all much of a muchness i.e. rarely do I see re-quotes, slippage or fowl play.
To be honest ...LMAX = revolution?!?
-
Bleek replied Mar 17, 2011That happens to me a lot, particularly on platforms that have pretty fixed/tight spreads. If I do get stopped out I just check the lower prices on my other price feeds to make sure it's all legit. Outside of big news events, I've yet to find any ...
LMAX = revolution?!?

Bleek replied Mar 17, 2011Wow. I've been trading for many years, it's my day job and I run a profitable trading company, I dare say I'm probably one of the most profitable people on this forum and needless to say I've used many brokers. Saying that bucket shops work against ...
LMAX = revolution?!?
-
Bleek replied Mar 16, 2011You could do what I do and spread your accounts over several brokers. I currently use four brokers. Why? - I get four live feeds. - I can see for myself if one broker is misbehaving or has issues. - I can comfortably trade the volumes you are ...

Bleek replied Mar 5, 2011I can see now I made a mistake ever starting this journal, it was never intended as a dangling carrot - sorry to all those that have been disappointed. But in all seriousness, I am done here.

Bleek replied Mar 5, 2011I've had nothing but crap talk from naysayers so yes, my response does speak volumes - it shouts that I'm pissed off and done with this forum. Good luck, you clearly need it.
