Still net shorts in the COT report and index has been overbought for a long time - this looks like a classical short squeeze and or mainly profit taking as the channel is so well defined? Having said that potential upside resiatamce is still the ...

shabab - when you enter these trades, what are you looking for as your targets? I can understand looking at the COT reports and saying there are net shorts or the index is overbought but some of the earlier threads suggested 50pip trades based off ...

It's not just the books. I mean SR patterns, etc. can all be traded but it's being able to hold onto a trade until the next support/resistance area or the wave pattern. Any thoughts on that or is that what you do, hold on until the trade reaches the ...

Sometimes I like the link (inverse) between UCAD and oil (WTI) a little better than the stock market. Any thoughts? Dollar index at support area today.

If you draw in the trendline from the top and the horizontal resistance, don't we get a possible cap area of 1.550?

Who is Peter Bain? When any index is at the extremities, to take that advice is suicide. If the net position changes from short to long then you could consider going long but it would be better to have got in before obviously and use that to stay ...

That's the COT index though. The big players are long but the index is showing an overbought scenario, looking at the last few times it got to those levels the GBP reversed its price path. For the YEN, date needs to go back a bit further.

2 countries in trouble there though. Neither the Japanese nor the Swiss want string currencies yet it can't be helped at the moment. USDCHF did just hit it's 200 day MA though and there is talk of the Japanese PM wanting to push a weaker yen.

I am not touching the Euro at the moment, too much short squeezing going on and many specs. Any thoughts on these: Sell the yen by buying USDJPY. Buy the CAD by selling USDCAD Sell the GBP by selling GBPUSD (GBP moved much further than expected to ...

Maybe, maybe not. The typical options expiry stuff happens on the Wed, Thu, Friday and the euro surge was before that. Thu and Fri, the euro hardly moved.

Another interesting one is the $Swissie now into overbought territory on the Daily Chart and green line still below the red line, ie sell the CHF, buy the USD as this is the inverse of the currency pair USDCHF.

Also note that everytime we had a change in short positions (giving a little peak in the green line) it coincided with a temporary peak in the price action. I would say look for EURUSD shorts in the coming week. Look for resistance in the 1.25, ...

Kind if a strange indicator to publish though don;t you think...as in it's counterintuitive. If all FXCM's clients (the small traders) all start to follow the SSI then it will start giving contrarian signals to the signals it's currently giving.

Is the SSI data from FXCM's client only or the full lot? From what Iread it is only listing the small/retail trader hence why it is a contrarian indicator as the large traders look to exploit the small traders?
