i think, it depends on the approach...if you have a low win% in combination with a high risk reward ratio, stops are vital to keep up an high avg RR ratio...if you have a high win% combined with a risk reward of 2:1 or 3:1, stops are not so vital

i dont know, if this fits into the topic, but i think there a general problem with what you can call "trading models"... model 1 goes like "plan your trade and trade you plan" and model 2 goes like "trade what you see, not what you think" theres ...

ok, but how does this translate into price action ? all i can see is audusd might be breaking 07600 (i have a lmt sell order at 07600) and usdcad 1h is still in an uptrend, trying to make new highs (i have an lmt buy order at 80)...so, im betting on ...

i think, CAD will probably show a bit weakness next week, so, im looking to go long on usdcad and eurcad and short on cadyen....usd could gain against aud...so, rather then shorting eurusd im looking to short audusd or nzdusd...just my eyes..

mr whipple, your example is just textbook, cause selling on mom div is a SCALP ONLY !! means small objective and tight stops....while buying into new highs can have a bigger objective and a wider stop...just my eyes.
