Seneca pilot replied Mar 1, 2013Olarian, I'm curious to know if you plan to hold your short through the weekend. I am out as of 1.3020 in the test account. I am trying to decide whether to keep these runners through the weekend in my investment account. I see the risk right now to ...

Seneca pilot replied Feb 28, 2013This is going to cause a problem for you. Trading is not about money. Trading is about consistently making the correct decisions. If you make the correct decisions you will make money. If you chase money you will continually make poor decisions.

Seneca pilot replied Feb 28, 2013I have always had a problem with balance in my life. I am something of a workaholic and have a problem with perfectionism. I have had to fight it continually in my trading. My children have helped with this. Many other things lost importance when ...

Seneca pilot replied Feb 28, 2013I just noticed your explorer is demo. I know I will be going against a lot of the advice given on this forum but demo is of very little value. I would say that you might have a little easier time in conquering your discipline issues if you open a ...

Seneca pilot replied Feb 28, 2013Thank you. Things are getting easier. We are moved into the new house and getting settled. I am ninety percent finished with the painting and preparations to the old house to get it sold. The kids are happy and doing well. And the new trading method ...

Seneca pilot replied Feb 28, 2013The thread starter has a discipline problem. You can see it in his answers. He has stated that he gets greedy after making some money and wants more. Wanting more money is not a trade set-up. Just as with all traders he will either learn to have ...

Seneca pilot replied Feb 27, 2013This is my first real move into longer term trading. I have always been on the fifteen minute up to one hour charts. I intend to keep the lows and highs for at least three weeks. I don't want too many in the chart as I think that would lead to ...

Seneca pilot replied Feb 27, 2013There will be weeks when the initial weekly open is not hit again. When this happens I will trade each day's open in the same way until there is an entry. Of course, if a weekly high or low is hit first that will be the initial entry. A chart to ...

Seneca pilot replied Feb 27, 2013Had I traded this week off the four hour chart I would have been long off the weekly open and probably exited when the two pinnish doji type bars were broken to the downside. I don't know if I would have shorted or not. It was in the area of a ...

Seneca pilot replied Feb 27, 2013The rules for the weekly levels are basically the same as the daily. The weekly open is still 05:00 GMT on Monday morning. I will still look for at least two bars not touching the open price before an entry is triggered. I will be using four hour ...

Seneca pilot replied Feb 27, 2013I close all trades on Friday by one or two hours before market close. I am not a fan of holding trades over the weekend. Price can gap past your stops. I don't have any really good reason other than that. Of course you can also benefit from gaps too. ...

Seneca pilot replied Feb 26, 2013I don't insist that the price be touched exactly. Often the best trades are tough to get to the pip as they are places where there is competition for the entry. Many of my entries are three or four pips away from the level.
