honestknave replied Feb 10, 2015I'll requote myself - sitting on the sidelines is a perfectly good trading position! A personal shortcoming of mine is opening the terminal at the start of the day and convincing myself that I'm immediately looking at a trade setup and need to ...

honestknave replied Feb 10, 2015Yes, I agree. Re-entry is always an option - once the news passed, I shorted again based upon the 1.1300 breakout continuing. image Glad to hear it! Sitting on the sidelines can be a perfectly good trading position

honestknave replied Feb 10, 2015Thanks
It looks like price did indeed overcome the final obstacle, pushing through 1.1300 but I'm happy with my exit - too close to the GBP news for my liking. Looks like you're getting a few trades in yourself

honestknave replied Feb 10, 2015Closed out +25 pips on confluence of 127AB=CD and major trend line. I wasn't prepared to wait and see how well defended the round number is. image

honestknave replied Feb 10, 2015Currently short EU. A good example of how I don't trade the news, but I have a healthy respect for how it can ruin your day. Price was hovering in the area for a short, but CHF news inbound. As soon as that came in as expected, I was happy to enter. ...

honestknave replied Feb 10, 2015Hello PipTrendz, Indeed, the second one was a 61.8AB=CD (so the CD leg was 0.618 the length of AB). I trade these quite a lot. In fact, I utilized it for the exit too on this occasion. It always depends on context, but in very general terms it is a ...

honestknave replied Feb 9, 2015Hello, yes sorry that was a busy (working) chart. Hopefully this will help explain things a little better: Price did correct beyond the 78.6, but "looking left" (off the chart) clearly showed the significance of this area. The corrective swing ...

honestknave replied Feb 9, 2015From my maths, you are correct. It should be 2.618. Personally, I don't focus on that extension because I think it can give you a false sense of confluence. To my simple mind, if AB = CD then the C retracement has already determined the extension. ...

honestknave replied Feb 6, 2015Hello dan78, That is a compiled indicator (it ends .ex4) which means we can't do anything with it. You will need to post up the source file (ending .mq4) if you have it.
