doblece replied Feb 15, 2009I haven't compared yet to the "inverse" breakout system but it's on my testing schedule. Will post results as soon as I do. I applied the system blindly, that is, opening a buy limit and sell limit in regard to the weekly (and daily) previous ...

doblece replied Feb 15, 2009Your grid would maybe work better if based on psych levels and not a fixed amount of pips. Here's a table I made upon observation of price behaviour in respect to those, with best open prices including spread (red for short, green for long) and ...

doblece replied Feb 15, 2009Pics 2 and 3: you're having a slight bullish divergence forming... and a flat market. Short entry comes much later on... or you could have entered as soon PA crossed the cloud and Trix changed color (the previous candle) for a 20-30 pips trade.

doblece replied Feb 14, 2009I just re-downloaded it to re-check. It came fine, no corruption anywhere. Maybe you're having an unstable Internet connection or are using several programs at the same time (especially if you are uploading or downloading in the background). Try ...

doblece replied Feb 14, 2009Try redownloading the one on the first post, sometimes failures / interruptions in bandwidth flow cause the zip/rar files to get corrupted when it gets on your side (missing data). But the zip file in itself is ok.

doblece replied Feb 14, 2009There are two trading simulators, posted here: url I personally use vhandstrade as I find it easier to work with. Just download the files and follow the instructions. If you chose vhandstrade, when making the template, add first the THV3 template, ...

doblece replied Feb 14, 2009Of course it can't be followed blindly (who would be taking mostly only longs on such a downtrend anyway!). The purpose behind the backtest (manual and visual, placing each and every trade myself) was to see, UNDER THE WORST POSSIBLE CONDITIONS ...

doblece replied Feb 14, 2009Here's an indicator that shows High/Low of current and previous periods (from M1 to MN at choice), as a continuous line. You can place it several times with different TF settings if you need. Maybe some programmer out there could even tweak it to ...

doblece replied Feb 13, 2009Scroll for a few screens and spot the maximum ATR value (depending on the time frame) for a given period (could be for example a month for daily, a week for h4, a day for 1h, etc...), as well as the minimum value. Add them and divide per 2. You'll ...

doblece replied Feb 13, 2009It is quite improbable to have such a losing sequence even under the worst conditions, as price moves in waves and even in a strong trend there are small reversals all the time (I just tested on the simulator on the long fall down from 1.6037, ...

doblece replied Feb 13, 2009That's easy. You need double the winners than the losers to get BE. (2*20 = 1*40) On 100 trades: You divide 100 among 3 (2 for wins 1 for loss), that's 66,66% wins, 33,33% losses = 1333,20 (pips on each side).
Risk/Reward = 2:1; What should be the needed winning rate to stay BE?
