SL is better I think. Hedging is basically saying I want to take another opportunity for buying or selling. Immediately going against your first position could be a useful tool.

I wrote here some time ago about this. I don’t call it slippage. They use larger spread then shown. About 2 * times shown, so spread for GBPUSD becomes about 2. Maybe I should check this all with 0.01 trades

I you have the capital there is not much reason to go with a prop firm. I chose MFF because of 8% target and extension possibility. Next time maybe I will try another, which doesn't have own trading software.
