If you use this indicator attached, (the mbl line isn't on there but it could probably be added), using this you can at least see if the tdi had crossed when the candle closed below the 5ma. Set the timeframe you want it to show under inputs.

Are you backtesting using a simulator or just scrolling back. If just scrolling back you need to use a tdi that doesn't move after the closed candle so you can see where the tdi actually was at the time, not where it is now its adjusted itself. ...

Mostly NFP and FOMC are the two news times I stay out of. I don't really take notice of red news in general because I find being on the smaller timeframes you can see the momentum for a certain direction earlier than on the htf you will still have ...

All 3 of those trades took place just before or during NFP. Unless you're an experienced trader who knows what you're doing around volatile news times then stay out. If you post some of your trades that you have taken during normal trading times it ...

Look at my post above yours Helanka, it was the NFP candle and it whipsawed on a lot of our charts upwards (look at Imi's post further back) phx62's broker didn't have that whipsaw upwards but a lot of us did so nothing wrong with your broker just ...

It seems your broker didn't have the kind of whipsaw that mine did, on my chart on the news candle price went back up to 143.032 plus spread of course if a sell was in before dropping.

With a master candle breakout its customary to use around a 5 pip buffer so going in when it breaks 5 pips (some use 10) past the top or bottom of the master candle. I don't actually use them at all myself, but I know how they are traded.

Yes I posted afterwards that I could see it but that imo it was far too late for a mc bo, it was at least 40 pips higher than the top of the MC from what I can see on the chart.

A few people have pm'd me asking about the mtf tdi and the reason I use the 1hr on m5 and m15 to better see the crosses. I took this image of m5 as close as I could to 2 signals on h1, one with the h1 tdi crossing down and the second one with the h1 ...
