-
pipmutt replied Sep 1, 2010Sounds like it works better than the one I had when I used a laptop for trading, VTBook, every time I moved the mouse the displays couldn't keep up, ended up sending it back, it wasn't cheap either! I mainly use a desktop for trading, with a couple ...
Is the Multiple-Monitor Productivity Boost a Myth?

pipmutt replied Sep 1, 2010Let's hope IBFX and other brökers/MM's are better informed this time round than they were about last year's Compliance Rule 2-43, a sea of misinformation and a fiasco which led to this warning!!

pipmutt replied Aug 31, 2010Why so quick to dismiss the retail trader, at the moment he provides liquidity for retail forex MM's, trading what is in effect a derivative (for want of a better word) of the underlying spot market, why couldn't they have a similar set-up but based ...

pipmutt replied Aug 31, 2010What's the alternative, allow all those to be self-regulating, or maybe just not bother at all! What would you be accusing governments of then, not caring? Hey, the majority voted them in democratically, try living in China!

IBFX haven't proved to be the most reliable source of info in the past, it wasn't that long ago they were telling everyone FIFO would mean you couldn't trade with stops!!Could 10:1 be the new leverage in US Forex?

pipmutt replied Aug 31, 2010Granted it's only a small percentage of spot, and micro is practically non-existent apparently, but wouldn't that change if more and more traders made the move across? Is there perhaps some sort of derivative (?) of futures that could be introduced ...
Could 10:1 be the new leverage in US Forex?

pipmutt replied Aug 31, 2010I agree, they certainly seem to be setting the scene for something, my bet is it's to drive traders to futures, the gap is narrowing. Would that be such a bad thing though? Regulated, transparent, insured, accountable.

pipmutt replied Aug 31, 2010I've never worked for a bank but that's the impression I get, they'll only tell the market (their competitors) what they want it to know or believe, invariably they have their own agenda! Bluff and double bluff I imagine, it must be great fun!

pipmutt replied Aug 31, 2010Was it? Does anyone actually know the percentage of traders who objected and aired those objections? Is this the end of it though, perhaps they're seeing how things pan out with 50:1, it could just be an interim measure. I suppose it depends on ...

Nothing wrong with that, but let's be realistic. We've tried and failed on significantly more human interest and vote-affecting legislation than how much Joe forex-micro-trader can leverage his hundred bucks, ...Could 10:1 be the new leverage in US Forex?

pipmutt replied Aug 31, 2010I'm not so sure, Oanda's maximum leverage is 50:1 and they're doing just fine on it, they're one of the biggest in the industry. Having said that I believe they don't margin call in a traditional way, maybe that's how US brokers will compensate. I ...

pipmutt replied Aug 31, 2010I actually meant on here, people were really getting all riled up over it! I guess we'll never know why they settled for 50:1 unless they tell/told us but I think it's more likely it was despite all the comments mailed in rather than because of ...
