nonlinear replied Jun 25, 2012I have open trades that I opened last week and I will close them each for a modest loss as soon as slope drops below .4 on the daily, which is well above my original stop loss. If slope stays above .4, I will keep them open to see what happens with ...

nonlinear replied Jun 22, 2012Sounds like a solid approach Ripper, although too short term for my time. I am staying within the daily or 4H for now with larger stops and low lots, which makes my exits and pair selection more important than my entries. BTW, which criminal are you ...

nonlinear replied Jun 22, 2012The repainting of the slope indicator has the potential make a prior entry look great or horrible after the fact. Forward testing only.

nonlinear replied Jun 22, 2012Thanks Ripper, As for CADJYP on D1, with my broker I am not showing ranging. Slope was above 0.4, weekly histo green, and price crossed the monthly pivot and was above the blue line on the 20th. So I entered there with a stop near the monthly ...

nonlinear replied Jun 22, 2012Took CADJPY long yesterday on the daily. I am still having trouble with exists. Did anyone go short on USDCHF a few days ago? Are you still in the trade or when did you exit? I am not inclined to close a trade when slope drops back below 0.4 within ...

nonlinear replied Jun 21, 2012Question: Suppose one entered a long trade on the daily when the weekly histogram was green, slope was over .4, and price was above pivot and the blue line. Then an hour later after some price action slope drops back under .4, do you immediately ...

nonlinear replied Jun 20, 2012Binyamin, In your backtest, you entered buy when the daily was in a UT, H4 slope was green and either price crossed pivot or crossed the MA and close towards the trend. Were you testing the daily system, but based on the 4H slope? Thanks for the ...

nonlinear replied Jun 19, 2012Bin, As you noted not all pairs will move the same in a trend. If one is willing to risk 6% on all open trades, for example, then trading six different closely correlated pairs at 1% per trade might make sense, or 2% per trade on three highly ...

nonlinear replied Jun 6, 2012I was thinking that the stop should be the lesser of 3 times the ATR or the pivot. That will avoid market noise and give the trade room to breath.

nonlinear replied Jun 6, 2012Binyamin, You could use or modify Hopwood's EA to run a forward test (see post 1). The EA has enough flexibility to do what you want. I am curious if the stops you are using in the test are too large and are thus depressing the returns.

nonlinear replied Jun 1, 2012Bob, What are your views on how price will behave around dynamic versus flat S/R lines? Obviosuly not much of a difference early in the week, but as the week rolls on the differenece may be significant. Thanks.

nonlinear replied Sep 6, 2010I tell you that I for one was new to forex four or so years ago and read every one of jacko's posts. I watched all these people follow his methods. I ended up going a different way and now it is almost funny looking back.
