How do forex traders predict price?

What software is everyone using to trade? I have got a local South African broker but the software they have is exceptionally slow.. Looked into MT4, but don't I need a broker to go through, as it doesn't look like I can use them on its own.

USD/CAD

All I do is compare the previous data from the last 10/15min and 1hr.. I then see the trend and make a guestimate where it's gonna be.
