Battle raging... — Can't get military analogies out of my head - especially as we're fighting over a flag... At the moment, I think momentum is with the bears (yay!). Still hanging in the balance, though. viz.: (note the rejection from the top ...

True, although you know that shorting at the top is better than at the bottom - therefore the odds of profiting are at least that bit better. I don't normally do it, but I've been having a bit of fun selling tops/buying falls and scalping for 5-10 ...

Short again at 1.6126. They nearly had my SL last night, but still there. If we can clear 1.6110, then expecting first resistance at 1.6065 (previous r, and fibs), and tough progression to the figure. 1.5980 to 1.5940 had little traffic on the way ...

Tricky as hell. And relentless. Still, I'm looking for another opportunity to short, too. It seems to me cable has a habit of pushing the envelope about as far as possible before finally caving in. You know, just as you give up all hope, and abandon ...

Haha, lucky you. I got stopped out, actually, by the inevitable 1 or 2 pips. This means, of course, that it will now career downhill faster than Jimmy Savile's reputation. Hold on to your hat!

Actually, SL to 31 now, just above the point of all that tedious support this afternoon, so locking in about 7 pips profit. Generally, I try to discipline myself to moving the SL down (or up, as appropriate) to just above the lowest strong s/r. ...

Amen to that! It seems we were in almost identical positions, except I kept bringing my SL down towards BE when it looked like heading south, then chickening out and moving it higher again when it lurched back up. Been caught too many times like ...

Oops - my bad. I follow the Dow, hence the '400'. Still, a 70-odd point drop in the S&P in 4 days is nothing to sneeze at, and who said anything about the last month? I think I said 'the very short term'? Should I have said 'the very, very, very ...

But nobody's buying up the $ - it's sitting there letting John Bull piss all over it. (Am I letting my short position show?) And yes, S&P's going up generally, but it just fell 400, and I'm looking at the very short term here...

Surely if US stocks rise, foreigners can be expected to have been selling their currency, to BUY $, to allow them to purchase the US stocks (obviously what locals do has no effect). i.e. Dow up, $ up... Or am I punch drunk from watching cable do ...

I just don't get it. These two have been slugging it out in a narrow range for over three hours, and suddenly one of them is handed a crowbar in the shape of durable goods orders...and he declines to use it? I want to see blood!

Often think I could greatly improve my chances this way. Strictly, though, using stop losses would be cheating. Incidentally, I'm a long-time lurker on this forum, and have greatly enjoyed your and others' posts. It does a lot to help one suffer the ...

I agree. Refreshingly simple chart, btw. Also, short @132, but in this market, not confident. So why did I enter...?
