should i just wait for the NY open,and let the market show it's hand and then place a trade if there is one? Most of the time on my trading journey, i have placed trades before the open.

If a market was downtrending and you had a demand level base on a weekly chart, how would you know where to put your stop on a smaller time frame.I ask because you would be taking that first bounce at that level.

well i started with a scalping system based on MA's, RR was 1-2 and you made a maximum of 8 trades a day.So i was use to a lot of action,though not profitable.I think it wasn't profitable because if you made a bad trade,you would have to get 2 right ...
