I think the best way to view this is to take the point of view that your money is not safe wherever it is, and to plan accordingly. MF global had 'ringfenced segregated accounts', and it was all ok until the day that customers found out that they ...
Is your money safe with your broker?
- bootsyjam replied Oct 18, 2012
Agreed. If people want to take a step up then I would recommend Interactive brokers with Sierra charts, but you have to pay for the charts and it can be a confusing set up as you have to a fair bit of background work but that's another discussion ...

I would use MT4 for charting, but I definitely would not use it as a platform for entering trades. Do a bit of research and you'll see terrible slippage issues (orders not getting filled, fgetting filled at a bad price etc). In terms of a visual ...
Which Broker is truly reliable?
- bootsyjam replied Aug 21, 2012
Take note that they shut spot fx for 15 mins every night to reboot their servers for 15 mins. That could lead to massive slippage if a big move happens during this time as the fx market isn't shut but IB certainly are! All orders stay on the system ...

Nollej I'm trading forex on the futures market. Futures are traded via an exchange, so volume is available for all to see so it's different from spot fx which doesn't have volume for the reasons that you stated

@ Kenneth/Good lookin, Thanks for the replies. Having volume data works well for me because I can analyse price and subsequently figure out the true strength of a move and a price zone, and sunsequemtly why things have happened they way that they ...

Yup know all that already thanks Oshawa. Futures and spotfx are different that's for sure, hence the difference in volume for london spot and london futures. But the simple fact remains that they move in almost exactly the same way, so if you can't ...

usdcad chart as per prev message — I should add that these are 5 minute charts and not 30 minute charts so it is a bit different from Ken's 30 min tf, but the same principles apply. The increase in volume for eurusd at the bottom of the move, ...

Quick question r.e .supply and demand.... — But don't you need to see actual volume in order to accurately assess whether there is real demand that has pushed prices? Have switched over to futures as I can see volume data and it makes a huge ...

Thanks for the update Romant. Not good conditions today, all countertrend moves so am a bit wary. GBUSD moved into a demand area earlier in the session and shot back up but I didn't enter as the initial move higher before the retrace didn't seem ...

Romant-20 MA on what tf? If on 30 mins you're noty going to get much from that as it whipsaws around it far too often for my liking... [edit] sorry just seen you said on the daily chart. So what are the rules-if price is below 20MA on daily then ...

long gbusd @ 1.5678 SL at 1.5650. Went long at this higher level due to impulse bar at 5680 and went long when price reached bottom of the range it had made for itslef round there on the 1 minute. Ken's level will most likely be around 6660-6665 but ...
