tax question (new trader)

Unforeseen replied Feb 14, 2007Since this is an international forum, your country of origin would be a big help. In most cases, once the trade is closed, it's taxable. However loosing all of your initial captial is not a bad thing tax wise, but a good thing. However I remember ...

Unforeseen replied Feb 14, 2007Just an FYI for other readers not for steve to adjust his system
I've allowed this with my variation however only if I get stopped out and there is no existing trade. I am using the "very high standards" judgement to do so. The only one i've done ...Steviet's Live Trades!

Unforeseen replied Feb 8, 2007I think that is an excellent point on how much psychology comes into play when using other people's money. It's easy (and very often made assumption) to think if people could make more from the market they would - but the truth in point is they make ...

Unforeseen replied Feb 8, 2007Hey Steve, I think that this type of speculation is one thing that is limiting aspiring traders. You should expect returns based on your testing, not opinions of others on what "pro" traders would be happy with. When it comes down to it, the only ...

Unforeseen replied Feb 5, 2007Same here. The funny thing is I have lots of confidence in the system, because from the start I see how it's working in a ranging market - so I realize the enormous potential it has in a trending market. The confidence remains intact because I know ...

Unforeseen replied Jan 30, 2007100% Agree - bumps of good threads like this would be very positive. I am very happy someone bumped it, otherwise I would have never been aware of it. My point was just to allow others to be aware that they likely may not get a response... but hey, ...

Unforeseen replied Dec 7, 2006Thanks — Just wanted to say thanks for this excellent thread. This is truly a thread that is a "signal in the noise". After coming across it and then researching further with the "Fools of randomness" mention, I read the book and that has been ...

Unforeseen replied Dec 7, 2006The best way to trade retracements in my opinion is fibbonaci as a tool, and as a system/practice, Elliot wave. Elliot wave theory makes heavy use of fibbonaci. Check out fixme1too's thread in the journals fourm, i'm sure it'll be useful in ...
trade daily retracements?

Unforeseen replied Dec 6, 2006Retracements happen on all time frames, if you are using fibonacci numbers to calculate then i've read that 4HR and Daily's have the highest correlation with fibs of all the time frames, but cannot attest to the accuracy of that.
