Personally, I'd wait for the M15 to turn around and rejoin the longer term trend. It might not do that, in which case you wouldn't want to take the trade anyway. I usually don't trade against the direction of price movement. G

I watch all timeframes. The 15M is one that I would look at to decide if I want to enter a trade. But if I were to trade it on a lark, I'd be looking below one timeframe and above it 2 or 3 timeframes above the 15M to see that trend is consistently ...

Trading the 15M is much like scalping, which I am no expert at. If you look at the 5,3,3 stoch you can get an idea of the cycles or swings on the 15M. If the cycles are smooth and consistent, it may be tradeable. If the cycles are erratic, I would ...

Good point. Even though there aren't many long-running trends this week, it's still possible to trade smaller trends for consistent pips, if you are nimble enough.

Lizpet, I really like these trend discussions. Some would say the very best trend indicator is when you can look at a chart from across the room and immediately say, it's obviously going up, or it's obviously going down, or, it's not clear. If you ...

No, sorry. I meant Break Even, the point where the stop loss is set to the entry point. Where the trade would break even if it stopped out. Feel free to ask any questions like this. I don't mind at all. If the answer isn't clear, I'll try to explain ...

Hi Lizpet. The weekly and monthly charts move so slowly, you need a very fast trend definition for it to be of any use. I like to use the 5ema X 10sma for that purpose. It's very fast and reliable. I don't trade the crossovers, I simply call it an ...

Yes, the market has been flashing Beware! signs all week. The whipsaws in the US stock markets have been crazy as well. I had been waiting to add to my long term holdings of S&P 500 and got a good buy in yesterday when it dropped way down and today ...

MK5, the second lot would go on when the first is ahead by +30 to +50 pips. If you get a small retracement, putting it on just as that retracement starts to end is best. Third lot goes on between +50 to +75 pips. The same thing with the retracement ...

Yea, I'd be super careful once the weeks profits are in the bank. Looks like GJ has short TF's going up, Medium TF's going down, very long TF's going up. The short TF's could drive the Middle TF's up to rejoin the Longer TF trends shown on the ...

LOL, I wish I had more BE's! I think you know you are trading smart when you have lots of BE exits. The broadest way to look at trades are about half will ultimately move in your favor and about half will ultimately move against you. If you are able ...

I took the UCad long, but the market is still very unstable. I can't find any other trades worth taking. Maybe later.

The feeling of being torn is a warning sign to stay out. "When in doubt, stay out." The market has been very unstable this week. Wait for it to come to you. Usually you won't have to wait more than a couple days, but in the worst case I've seen it ...

Hi Lizpet. Yes to all. I trade NY and the first half of Asian. I sleep the second half of Asian and first half of London. I'd prefer to sleep all Asian and trade all London and NY, but that doesn't agree with my time zone here. The 6 trades I took ...

Yes, I have some advice. Computers trade the 15M and below these days. Unless you are a savant at the 15M, it's almost impossible to make a profit on it. My advice is don't trade below the H1. Cheers. G
