As a 30pip SL trader, was 12SL area before, yep 1/10th lot size which I can't do without a micro micro account. Switching same method as I'm trying at the moment on M5, slowing it down to M30 looks like it would support this.
Do you believe tight stop-losses cause losses in the long run?
- Turveyd replied Aug 4, 2013
Dunno, the amount of times I've been SL'd at the bottom which them would of ran for very good pips, it's tempting to run without. Ofcourse a lot of SL's saved me from 200pip moves against me, so you'd have to trade at a lot size where 200-300pips is ...

If you can trade without a SL and be objective enough to go, market is going up, I'm short, change sides and see what happens if your in a profit or loss at the time, most of us haven't, so our losses grow and grow till margin call, but if you can ...

It's a tough 1, I'm getting better results since moving from 10 to 30, but times where 10 looks better but then spikes take them out. current theory is bigger SL even when wrong gives me a 40% chance of getting to profit, so it's kindaworth the ...

Totally wrong, billions of orders could go through and if there happy both sides with the bid and ask price won't move at all. Obviously an order went through to print the spike. Its about percieved value not about volume.

Errrrrmm,, it's the lack of volume which creates the spikes, volume doesn't move the markets if no 1 is willing to bid the price can fall 200pips in seconds without a single order going through as we go into the summer doldrums we get less volume ...

Slowed it down to M5 these days, proper intraday trading has a much higher pay out potential as increased frequency of trades, I kinda need that to turn nothing into a LOT!! If I had the time to trade that is, motivation is at a all time low ...
