just ran a quick excel calculation, comparing recent daily range to average 10 day range in the past. clear range contraction. breakout shortly for sure. direction unknown.

daily, I trimmed the price section to make it fit. triangle can break out either way, so this is a casino trading right now in EU.

EU daily symmetrical triangle setup and range contraction, not a good pair to trade pre-ECB and in the tip of the triangle. Why bother? Wait for a break out and trade in that direction.

yeah ok sky, it's one way of looking on the daily chart. here's another one though. Still if price does in fact break out of the 50 resistance, you could look to buy on retracement. More realistic, oz go down, the ranges are already overextended.

AUD/USD

what's your target on the long side? You could be good, but 1300-10 really strong resistance, if bulls manage to push through 1280 resistance will get them.
