For me the best thing you can do is looking at the market structure and be sure if its a bullish/bearish trend and I personally use volume a lot cause with the strategy it filters some entries.

This is on Nasdaq, why I got in? Beacause even if the channel was red (means downtrend) the trendline was broken and the market started going bullish so thats why. 1:4RR (set on liquidity points).
