I think its either going straight down after the annoucement or it will spike up maybe 50 pips and come right back down. I can think of a lot more reasons, fundamentally and technically, for it to significantly down rather than significantly up.

That could be a bullish sign. That's exactly what happens when big money goes for a buy in a quiet market. The price shoots up 20-30 pips and then gets sold back down by the public.

are you really that surprised? we have confluence of a strong PPZ between 8780 and 8810, a well-defined trendline, a 61.8 fib retracement(hi of 8914, low of 8574), and the nice round number of 8800 all within 20 pips of each other...
