also if i get into profit and momentum dries up i get out no wishing and hoping here if i goes against me i have a small stop and i can usually tell it wont follow through and exit with minimal loss damien

i dont really have an entry signal i just jump on board when i think price has exhausted itself and is ready to breakout damien

a good way of doing this is on the close of the daily bar in uptrend, if its green buy on the open downtrend sell on open. stop on the other side of the bar. take profit just trail stop behind the next bars low or high... set and forget regards ...

Why not just open the trade and check back every few days
