JeremyV replied Sep 25, 2017Yeh, mine, too. Shouldn't really matter which broker it is, since it has nothing to do with trading conditions. Maybe their servers are some Commodore64 somewhere in azshafaghanistan, so their feed hangs up, causing cTrader to get slow?!

JeremyV replied Sep 25, 2017Like I said, it's not a PC problem. I have 2, sometimes 3 cTrader windows open with maybe 20-30 tabs. And one MT4 with some dashboard indicators. cTrader uses maybe 5-10% cpu usually. Even when it is laggy and slow, it's not a hardware performance ...

JeremyV replied Sep 25, 2017I know what you mean. I'm familiar with that behaviour. But that's not it. Like, right now... I had my second cTrader window (with all my charts) minimized. And now when I try to reactivate the window, it doesn't open. My task manager doesn't label ...

JeremyV replied Sep 23, 2017I do have some basic indicators and some I coded myself and I managed the CPU usage well for over a year now. Never had any problems because of that. I try to keep the open windows to a minimum. Mostly major pairs plus some others and commodities. ...

JeremyV replied Sep 21, 2017I really like cTrader as a platform, but lately it is using more and more cpu and ram. Plus it starts to hang up from time to time. For example yesterday during FOMC. It just froze and didn't respond anymore. It's not my PC setup! Does anyone else ...

JeremyV replied Sep 15, 2017I wouldn't say "no". It can be a nice way of keeping track of separate strategies or to test a new one out when you go live with it. Mixing them might "slow you down" as well. Doing the separation trade by trade manually and on paper/excel. By ...

JeremyV replied Sep 13, 2017Highly leveraged scalping or intraday trades? Probably not. Long term swing trades? Probably yes. I am a longer-term trader and I leave my tardes open over night, over the weekend and over high impact news. If you can't sleep because of one of your ...

JeremyV replied Sep 13, 2017How exactly does it slow me down? I can take the same trades or spread my trades over multiple accounts. It doesn't matter. What does matter are the limits regarding the amount of your money regulators protect and in case something happens to or ...

JeremyV replied Sep 12, 2017On cTrader you can use limit orders. wouldn't that solve the slippage problem on pending orders? The tooltip states "at set price or a better one". So only positive slippage possible.

JeremyV replied Sep 12, 2017What he said. Plus, with high leverage you get to place your trades at a lower margin. So even though you don't use the whole available leverage, you can benefit from the margin part. Which allows you to have more wiggleroom in your trades ...

-
JeremyV replied Sep 10, 2017My view on drawdown is everyone has a different number he feels comfortable with. Of course it depends on the account size as well. For some 60% dd is okay, for others 5% is the max the are willing to take. And that's fine. Whatever floats your ...

JeremyV replied Sep 10, 2017I wouldn't say "plenty". Some advertise that they protect your funds. But if you read the smallprint carefully, it often refers to the software's in-build stop-out level. True negative balance protection means that in case of a black swan event for ...
