I don't know man, it that 100% accurate? Gleneagles has posted numerous profitable trades higher than those numbers (+20s). He has shown the best results I have seen and appears to have Edgetrader's full endorsement.

Edgetrader, So, based upon these and your previous Renko trades, there is no set rule to wait for the primer candle (HMA changes color) to close. I believe at least 1 EA is coded to wait for this primer candle to close. It seems that many others are ...

Suggestions — You guys are all over the place with this system. I thought you were all supposed to be testing the same system by now (per Edgetrader's wishes). This is not rocket science here guys. Just a few unsolicited suggestions: 1) Since ...

HMA — HMA color set at 8,3,3,true,2,0 I believe these setting make the HMA based on the Low price for the bar. Any particular reason for this change from close or weighted close?

Boham, that is the big question isn't it? Everyone seems to have their own way of determining momentum. Well, not necessarily momentum in the true sense of the term, but some further confirmation of a trending vs. ranging market or strength of move ...

Momentum is the answer. You need a way to determine if momentum is sufficient enough to drive the price past your TP. Getting 5 or 10 pips on a big move is easy. Getting 5 or 10 pips on a small move is more challenging. We like easy.

For those with MT4 but have not purchased the Renko script, here is some data to at least get you started. The attached zip file contains an MT4 history file. It contains 2009 Renko data for EUR/USD. I have been using this data for backtesting. - ...

Some of these threads and strategies can be a little intimidating for non-programmers. Hang in there non-techies, sometimes things are not as complicated as they seem. For example, I would guess the standard Stochastic indicator in MT4 would perform ...

Ian - Thank you very much for posting your backtest results. This is the type of stuff this thread needs - someone who takes a strategy and trades it (or in this case, backtest) to give some type of long-term results. Finally someone has stopped ...

That's very possible, I have no idea. But the EA (or whatever it is called in Tradestation) has to have some other decision-making logic about when to enter and exit trades (LWMA, etc).

Are you really trying to get MT4 version to perform exactly like the Tradestation version? If so, it should not be this difficult. Let's look at the Tradestation version: 1) Uses Renko with a setting of 10 ticks (This is very easy to do in MT4 and ...

We have the primer and the detonator. All we need is something to protect us from getting blown up - some type of bomb-proof suit.

Edgetrader, is this a correct assessment: The point here is that Edgetrader has a system that he trades live on a non-MT platform. I assume that system has not changed at all in the 2 weeks this thread has been active. This is a training thread. The ...

Ian - Well, I guess you won't be using it then. I posted this indicator because others were complaining about the repainting of the MTF TRIX indicators. It addresses this issue. Backtesting is very important to my analysis of this sytem. It does not ...

Your questions were not directed to me. However, there are not two people testing this strategy using the exactly same method. Everyone has their own flavor. It also appears that everyone continues to tweak their strategies daily (if not hourly) ...
