EF5 commented Jul 2, 20191 metric ton comes out to 2204.62lbs so that might be why it doesn't reconcile. Calculated that way I'm getting $35.74B.
Gold gains as weak economic data hints at global slowdown

EF5 replied Jul 2, 2019Right now, I'm with you on the sidelines. Gold is in the middle of the range so from a R:R perspective there's just no compelling trade unless you're scalping. If I had to do something now I might put on a short strangle since volatility is ...

EF5 replied Jul 1, 2019I'm still patiently waiting for further retracement. I think there's a good support zone in the 1,345-1,360 range. image While it's tempting to get in now, buying below 1,370 is just so much better from a R:R standpoint.

EF5 replied Jul 1, 2019Its still a long road between now and having a deal in ink. Even after the USMCA deal was agreed upon, Trump nearly implemented new tariffs against Mexico over immigration.

EF5 replied Jul 1, 2019Funny you bring up prayer because I was just reading about how useful it is even if you're not religious. If nothing else it forces you to put your problems into words... A little introspection does a lot of good!
How do YOU trade?

EF5 replied Jul 1, 2019Normally I wouldn't go against the trend, but a short entry would be tempting here given the R:R. Autos haven't been particularly hot lately and we should have more supply coming on so a doubletop is my base case for palladium.

EF5 commented Jul 1, 2019I've read that genuine commodities bull markets tend to be associated with a falling Gold:Silver ratio. That's the primary utility from what I've seen. image

EF5 replied Jul 1, 2019You're absolutely right. I think changes in expectations driving the market is universal, but individual relationships change all the time. Take stocks and bonds for instance, usually stocks are attractive due to growth and bonds are more for ...

EF5 replied Jul 1, 2019You're exactly right. I recently saw a chart that showed a high correlation between total negative yielding debt and gold. I'll post it later if I can find it... There's a good reason gold and bonds are correlated... They're both safe haven assets ...

EF5 replied Jul 1, 2019Gold is beginning to look tempting for a longer term entry. If this breakout is legit, gold could go to $1,550 or higher. If I enter around $1,370 with a SL at $1,345, I'm risking $25 to make $180. I could be wrong, but with an R:R like that you ...

EF5 replied Jun 30, 2019The reactions we are seeing make a lot of sense to me. US-China reopen trade talks > odds improve for a trade deal > odds improve for higher global growth therefore risk assets appreciate. I explain my basic fundamental framework of looking at the ...

EF5 replied Jun 30, 2019I read a good article over the weekend about how different assets perform after yield curve inversions. Currently the 10y-3m curve is inverted, here's how gold and silver have historically performed when this happened: Gold image Silver image I ...
