Hendrick, I'm running v2 with the PhoenixAdditionalSignal in the subgraph. At 10:45 (GMT+2) a short in gbpusd fired while the subgraph was green. You haven't spoken of the indicators used yet in v2, but I thought that was one of them. If so, the ...

That's the indicator for the PhoenixAdditionalSignal. It plots the permission subgraph. Is that what you want, or are you looking for the firebird indicator that plots the MA envelope? If your're looking for the Firebird indicator, that hasn't been ...

Wow, how many pairs are you trading -- must be 13 or 14. Looks good so far.

Oh, no problem -- for whatever reason I assumed MM was already fully working. Have a great vacation -- you deserve it!

I've been running it with your default settings since it was posted. Looks interesting so far and in profit. Trail stop seems to be working fine. One trade was closed at BE and one closed when it hit the TS on a retracement. Currently has 4 open ...

Obviously subjective was not correct in your case. However, using such a large stop loss opens the door to trades being closed outside of the EA's parameters. Good luck with that.

Couple questions, Hendrick. Is this version using the PhoenixAdditionalSignal indicator you posted previosuly? If so, then I can add that to the chart and it should match up with signals? Also, the default for SafeArea is huge now. Is it calculating ...

Thanks, Hendrick. Some interesting default changes in SafePipsMinutes/distance, safe area, tp, sl and trailing stop. I'll put this right to work.

Yes, but how do you know you're maximizing and are you prepared to sit and watch it 24/7 and manually close trades here and there. I really prefer an EA that can profit on its own. Of course they all need to be monitored, but I'd rather it trade on ...

Why did you decide to not use closeSignal? And by older version, I meant a firebird version. With so many open I thought it had to be pipstep entries or surf entries. It just didn't occur to me that you would not use closeSignal.

Yardie, Do you have UseCloseSignal set to true? You're trading seven pairs right? With 13 open are there any hedged trades or trend trades? Or are you doing this on an older version and these are pipstep entries?

Why did you close 2 manually? Kind of defeats the purpose of the EA if you're closing them before the sl. You'll never get a true understanding of what your settings are capable of if you're subjectively closing trades.

Right, I understand you can change the variables. But if you've read the firebird thread -- and I know it's long -- I remember their was a lot of talk back about a month or so that something about firebird was hardcoded for M15. Maybe it was in the ...

I don't know. In the early days of firebird there was talk of something being 15 Min. And then maybe I thought of it again when I saw this quote from Hendrick a few posts ago. "The indicator is hard-coded for TF=15M!"<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = ...

If so my mistake. I just don't like the huge sl. Are you planning on using all Mono's settings? Wasn't he using a 30 min chart with a wider envelope at .1 rather than .05? And if so, wasn't there an early consensus in the firebird thread that ...

Hey Yardie, I agree, seems hard to ignore. But it also seems like we've done these settings before in the early days of firebird and it eventually crashed -- which is what gave rise to Phoenix. I guess the difference now would be no pipstep -- which ...

Primer for coding MT4
Started Jul 15, 2006|Platform Tech|3 repliesCan anyone direct me to a good source for learning to code MT4? Thx.
- BenQ replied Jul 15, 2006
I like the idea of the larger envelope. I mentioned that possibility early in the firebird thread, but didn't have the ability to code it. I gotta learn to code MT4. Since finding MT4, I'm no longer using esignal at all -- which is a shame, because ...

This looks interesting, Hendrick. Are you proposing this in addition to RVI or in place of? I've placed it on a chart with the old firebird indicator, and it looks like the best trades would be initiated during the yellow areas, which by definition ...
