2+2=4ex commented Nov 6, 2013I don't know if Livermore was the greatest trader of all time. If you believe the greatest trader is someone who became wealthy and stayed wealthy then Livermore is not your greatest. He sure did have huge testicles though, figuratively speaking.

2+2=4ex replied Nov 5, 2013I caught the AUD/USD short also. It was my single highest yielding trade of the year. I bailed when the pullback got to 0.9400. Of course it would have been nice to take the profit that was there at ~0.89, but at the time I was targeting 0.85.

2+2=4ex replied Nov 5, 2013It's truly good to see you have been successful up to this point. Congratulations. Perhaps you have exclusive information which prevents you from ever picking the wrong direction (I don't know). If you don't have some special or insider type ...

2+2=4ex replied Nov 5, 2013If you have a 97% win rate then you are trading with a stop loss. Trading with absolutely no stop loss would have a win rate of 100% (assuming you never get margin called). I'm not going to debate whether someone could be long term profitable ...

2+2=4ex replied Nov 5, 2013If someone shorted at 0.89 then they deserve what they got. There wasn't much pullback along the journey from 1.05 to 0.89. And I know that seems easy to say now in hindsight, but I remember thinking after we broke 0.9750 that continuing to add to ...

2+2=4ex replied Nov 5, 2013Not sure what people you have communicated with, but shorting has been more profitable this year than buying. And yes even after accounting for swap. In April (7 months ago), price was at 1.0500. It reached a low around 0.8900 in August. Even if ...

2+2=4ex replied Nov 4, 2013Australian dollar is -8.7% versus the US dollar year-to-date. Not sure buying dips is a good idea since it is counter trend.

2+2=4ex replied Nov 1, 2013I doubt anyone here can trade without a stop loss and not have a losing year (including unrealized trades). Eventually they will have a losing year. Worst (and saddest) of all, that one big loss will wipe out all previous gains.

2+2=4ex replied Nov 1, 2013When you break it down, trading is mostly an exercise in patience. Of course you need to have a method you believe has an edge, but assuming you do, then it all comes down to entering/exiting trades like a machine and patience. As for risk:reward, ...
