4hr Heiken Ashi Strategy with Pivot Points

You could have take some profit @ 33 PIPS, then leave the rest of the trade on. I've just take 1/3 or so of my EURUSD, so whatever happens I will have made a profit, even it goes back to my initial Stop Loss.

Oh, yes, that's the setup, the colour change is the entry.

Pushing the boundaries with the 1HR, your bringing back more variables into the equation, with the 4HR you can generally ignore the News announcements and the short term daily swings, but if you can deal with it, great stuff, I can't.

No, I wasn't at my desk, but yes, no confluence with a monthly pivot, but there is divergence, and also what we see towards the end of the week is the market giving back gains/losses. Looks like a countertrend trade on the 4hr, but if you switch to ...
4hr Heiken Ashi Strategy with Pivot Points

I take the view, that if it's too late, i.e. the market has moved too far after the change of colour to make the trade a potentially good one, then I'll pass, another opportunity will come along where there is a change of colour and the market ...

Yes. It's bounced off weekly S2, and we have the monthly pivot just above, good confluence.
4hr Heiken Ashi Strategy with Pivot Points

I try and trade from one monthly to the next, when you have a monthly and a weekly in the same area we have confluence so a strong S/R, it also depends on the gap, sometimes you have a big gap on the weekly if you have strong trends, then trade off ...

Yes, another possibility, but again look at the Daily chart, does it make sense on the Daily chart? Also remember the way I've been trading this, is I don't spend much time on it, and it's Thursday, so I'm extra conservative, Tuesday's are best, but ...
4hr Heiken Ashi Strategy with Pivot Points

I was looking at exactly the same thing, both weekly and monthly pivot points confluence, good targets, but if you switch to the Daily chart, we have a higher low, and the potential for that range to head up to the 88 area at Monthly Resistance 1. ...

Closed GBPAUD, gone from Monthly Resistance 1 to 3. turned out to be a very good trade.
4hr Heiken Ashi Strategy with Pivot Points

You can of course do that and you will probably get more opportunities, when I have more time I will spend more time looking for opportunities, but I've developed it so you don't have to, and will spending more time make you enter more loosing ...

Aim to trade from one pivot to another, look for trades where you get at least a 3:1 R/R, enter when the candle changes colour.
4hr Heiken Ashi Strategy with Pivot Points
- Bushy replied May 25, 2016
Yes, but the target is too close, the next pivot gives a 1:1 risk reward, but this pair has a very consistent pattern, it is a good probability of a win, but I only usually trade on the first candle that changes colour, so I would pass on this one.

Going for the range, good cross on 1hr, not the greatest of setups as far as HTF is concerned, maybe I will be kicking myself not sticking to the 4hr !!
