"Here, I add this line in RED to whichever EA I want to test so I can just change the number." I wasn't aware you could do that, and have strategy tester take into account probable entry points and 60 pip retraces. As it is, I've been spending time ...

llambert, I don't even know how to perform that test you did, but it probably would save me a lot of time if I did. Below are two charts for anyone interested in the visual, or confused as to what I'm talking about. If you're stopped out at minus ...

llambert3, I am in the process of manually checking the charts on the various pairs. This can only be done by scrolling back and looking at the chart(s) and using a crosshair line to determine where your entries would have been, and from that entry ...

Whitegoodman, must be mental telepathy or something. I've been looking at the charts for a few hours and making some notes. The difficulty in doing these manual backtests is due to the different time frame charts. In any event, nanningbob recommends ...

I like the new setup a lot & will give it a try next week. Nice to see you decided to stick around.

Sounds like a good upgrade of the EA, Fredella. I'll try it out next week.

A visual backtest using a 40 MA and an hourly chart is easier on the eyes than the 80 MA on charts with the lower time frames. My preference is fewer trades at a range that is extreme. For instance, I wouldn't mind just one or two trades a week on ...

Is it correct to assume that if all filters are used, there's fewer trades, but better ones?

The recovery EA worked on my GBP/CHF trade, and closed all trades out for a profit. I never did have the GBP/JPY, and never will because I've seen that currency either go up or down crazily without hardly any retrace at all. My pair selection will ...

Just open a second chart of the same pair you want to put the recovery EA on. What you want to do is load the template onto this second chart that has the recovery EA on it, for eg., L5 60X90 rescue 100X90. (TIP...before you load this template, ...

According to the WORD document included in the zip file on page 1, the recovery EA starts the FIRST trade the RECOVERY EA makes at the FOURTH level. Each level DOUBLES (not triples) So, if it's set at .02, that's level ONE. TWO times that is .04, ...

The recovery EA is purely optional, and it opens the first trade at .02, which is double what the initial EA would have opened it at. Instead of tripling, it doubles each successive trade, and it's 100X90. As far as if or when to use it, I guess ...

It's still about the TREND! If you get the trend right, you're fine. You know the old saying of The trend is you friend. Here's one I made up "The trend is a fickle friend, often telling you to kiss her rear end. She leaves you in the lurch, waving ...

The thing is to be correct on the trend. If you're not, you can not only have big drawdowns, but big losses. Ask 10 people how you can know the current trend will stay that way, and you get 10 different answers. You can go with the last day, the ...

You can manually input the amount you want to trade for each pair. The default is .01, but you can change that to whatever you want. On the "Inputs" tab of the EA, under "Lots", highlight the amount and erase it, and then enter what you want.

Nanningbob, have a great time while you're away. You were right, of course, on the cost of going 10 cents at three levels being around $450.00 if you were stopped out at 500 pips. I had a faulty spreadsheet that had level 2 being at 90 cents, ...

at .10 for 3 levels, the cost for one pair being stopped out at the 500 PIP default amount is $1,283.00 on a pair that has a PIP value of a dollar. With lots of pairs, I think there's a possibility of two or more going deep at the same time in a ...
